How an Electric Hydraulic Lift Table Works

An electric hydraulic lift table is a device used to lift and position materials by means of hydraulic power. It's also known as an air hydraulic lift table. This is also called a system that utilizes hydraulic fluid as a power source. Usually a hydraulic lift table has two or more hydraulic motors, all located in the device, working to move the lift table.

In general, an electric hydraulic lift table works in the same way as a regular hydraulic lift table. However, there are some modifications that may be necessary for the device to work properly. The first modification will be the addition of the required number of hydraulic motors to the table, in order to move it and raise up the material, whether the lift table is for one lift or for multiple lifts.

Next is adding the hydraulic system to the table. As with regular hydraulic systems, the hydraulic pump must be installed to allow the hydraulic fluids to run through the table. Typically the pump will be part of the table itself.

Once this is completed, the table must be designed and constructed to suit the needs of the table. It must be constructed of thick metal that can handle the movement of the table. Steel will usually be used in cases where the height and weight requirements of the table will be met.

If the table is to have multiple lifts, this may require modifying the construction of the table in some cases. This is generally done with thicker metals, allowing more material to be lifted. For larger lifts, such as when a full sheet of metal is to be lifted, aluminum is used instead of steel. This is because aluminum has greater strength and durability.

The standard hydraulic motor should be used on an electric hydraulic lift table in order to increase its lifespan. The motors should also be matched for the type of material being lifted or moved, in order to reduce energy consumption. Motor sizes vary for different types of lift tables.

The table must be built to withstand the load that will be placed on it. Adding lubrication to the table will extend the life of the table, as will taking advantage of any protective coatings. Most manufacturers advise against using grease on the table, due to the additional weight and friction that it causes to the lift table. Nonetheless, it is still necessary to protect the motor from grinding, due to the added heat generated during operation.
